Dogs of the Month!
Meet Clover and Alice
Below is the 15 month life history of these beautiful twins, detailed by their Mum - Luana.
Clover and Alice came into my life in late 2004 following the very sad and tragic deaths of my girls Hannah and Skyler. Hannah and Skyler died 12 days apart, possibly due to poisoning from termite treatment at our house. Hannah and Skyler were mini schnauzers, mother and daughter – they were 11 and 9 years old. When Skyler died, both Hannah's and my heart were broken and I was very lucky to find a great schnauzer breeder with a litter of pups ready to go. Hannah, myself and daddy visited the pups and after a very hard decision between the two little girls available, chose our new baby and named her Clover.
Hannah was very sick at the time and devastated our family when she died just a week after Clover came to us. We were very distraught and daddy immediately phoned the breeder to see if the other little girl was still available as he knew I needed two girl schnauzers to keep my heart beating. The next day, little Alice joined our family and for the last 13 months they have been my joy, my pleasure and my reason for being. Just like Hannah and Skyler, they are my heart beats.
Bringing up two little twin mini schnauzer pups is quite a challenge. First of all there was the challenge of learning their own names and not each think they were both Clovers and Alice's! Potty training was a breeze as schnauzer girls tend to be very clean and beauty conscious. Learning to walk on the lead was interesting and more to do with me learning not to get tangled! They had swimming lessons from day one and are now quite champion little mermaids.
The girls are keen sailors and go sailing most weekends on our little boat (named Hansky after Hannah and Skyler). They always wear life jackets when we are in rough water. They enjoy playgroup at Brennan park with their boyfriends Phillipe and Frank and are pretty dominant when it comes to the boys.
They love the café scene and are regularly seen at an alfresco café or restaurant in Crows Nest. They are generally very well behaved when dining out but occasionally are tempted to yap their brains out at a passing puppy dog.
Clover and Alice are extremely loving and affectionate (as most schnauzers are) and love to give me cuddles. They usually always have a mischievous twinkle in their eye, their mission is fun, fun, fun and they have loads of it! My little twins have helped mend my broken heart and importantly we all love to laugh a lot more now. Our favourite time is when we snuggle together at night for our sleeps and we end each night with a happy bed time story about Hannie and Sky.
Favourite treat – the lamb bone from Mum’s roast.

Paws On Paths says:
In the short time that we have know Alice and Clover, we have fallen head of heals for them! The beautiful girls always look like princess's in their array of designer collars, which suits their personalities ... princess's!
Alice seems to be a bit more reserved than her sister Clover. And as their Mum, Luana once commented: she is the only dog we know that doesn't get to excited about going for a walk! Alice has a pure sweetness to her, except for when she greets her boyfriends at the park. Then the other side of Alice surfaces!
Clover has a bit more of a cheeky streak. We wont mention the bird incident! She is a bit more adventurous than Alice, and acts as the 'older sister'.
The girls are perfectly well behaved and are a delightful addition to the
Paws On Paths pack. No other dogs can nibble on a ear lobe quite like Alice
and Clover. The girls are the product of Luana's love and devotion. In the
case of Alice and Clover - it really is a dog’s life!
